Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a minimally invasive hair transplantation technique in which follicular unit grafts (hair follicles) are individually removed from the patient’s donor area and the same are individually transplanted to the recipient (thinning) area. The grafts are extracted using a high-tech precision tool. There is no chance of any linear scar and no stitches at all are required, so your donor area will be minimally noticeable within just a few days post surgery.
FUE procedure along with all other hair restoration procedures at Hair Regrow Solutions, are performed by and under the supervision of Dr. Shyam Sheth. Dr. Shyam has dedicated his practice exclusively for hair restoration and is highly professional in natural graft placement. He also focuses on giving a natural hair line pattern by matching it with the original pattern of the hairline structure on the recipient area.
FUE is performed using a tiny one millimeter in diameter (or less) instrument, the surgeon will remove individual follicular units from the patient’s scalp called the donor area. The device makes a tiny circular incision around the follicular unit to isolate the graft. Later the graft is extracted directly from the scalp using a tweezers, and is prepared for placement by the team of skilled hair transplant technicians. Follicular units are arranged into groups depending on the number of hairs contained within each follicle (1-4 hairs are commonly found within each follicle). FUE integrates the latest minimally invasive technology and advanced grafting techniques.More information
Since FUE harvesting requires a much larger area as compared to strip harvesting (approximately 5x the area for the same number of grafts) in order to perform large sessions of FUE and the donor area must be shaved for the extraction of grafts. This can present a significant short-term cosmetic problem for many patients. And the scars will heal in few days and will match with the normal skin.Preparation of the Donor Area
The patient’s hair in the donor area is trimmed short so the surgeon is able to optimally visualize and work on the patient’s scalp as well as each donor follicle.Hair Growth
Restored hair will grow in the same fashion as one's native hair. And approximately three months after the procedure new hair begins to grow and around six months, patient should notice significant regrowth of the hair. The patient’s hair (native and transplanted) will continue to grow naturally and later the same can be trimmed and coloured.
